If you've developed your own project-based learning lesson plans, you know that math project plans can be an octopus-like undertaking incorporating state or Common Core standards and possibly coordinating with other teachers—all within the class schedule.
And then there are the necessary assessment rubrics. I undertook my first project-based learning math plan with my 5th graders several years ago. My students were fully engaged and it was rewarding for all of us.
But it was a bear to develop; I spent about 20 hours just on the plan. I swore then to find a more efficient way to build out my math projects. Fellow teachers recommended many resources to me, and I found many online. These math projects, from schools across the US, provide overviews, activities, assessment rubrics, work-product descriptions, and ideas for reflection. Although they vary in format, you can adjust them to your students' learning situation and to curriculum demands.
Projects from Math Matters in Indiana and PBLU, in particular, are very detailed and provide excellent project-based learning lesson plan templates. The projects are organized by topic and grade level, when available. Keep in mind that project-based learning lesson plans are usually cross-curricular.

Comments are not for promoting your articles or other sites. There's a project called Let's Get Cooking for planning a party. It requires students do lots of conversions to resize recipes for a group. I am looking for on line 5th to 6th grade level on line fraction projects.
I found a great lesson on next lesson choose any amusement park to visit and calculate the cost and then they made a power point on the site and then sent it to mebut my students have completed that project. I am now looking for another site that they could use to work at their own pace to complete a project.

I second Penny's suggestion. I have used the Math Projects from k-5mathteachingresources. Students love them and have produced some wonderful projects. The resources you cite include some good basic math activities, but I do not see any that rise to the level of project based learning. As I approach the math teachers in a PBL workshop, I can see the look on their faces: a mixture of gladness that the facilitator is a math teacher and slight anxiety about how they will do this in their classroom. As soon as I take a seat, the teachers begin their all-too-familiar series of comments and questions. I get how to make a project on area or volume but how do you do one about transformations? As in the workshop, most teachers want to know where to get started.
Here are two strategies used to generate ideas. The internet is a great place to get ideas. Project ideas are everywhere online. If you look at the details, they are set up as ways for students to demonstrate what they have already learned, not as the vehicle for learning the content.
The problem arises from trying to execute these projects as they are written. Another common way to create projects is to start with the standards. This is especially true for higher-level classes in which algebraic and geometric ideas are kept separate. If you choose to start with standards, you must know that not all standards lend themselves to a PBL unit.
These are standards that take up more time in the curriculum. Many districts, as well as states, have identified the power standards for any grade level or subject. Sometimes these standards are called essential standards.
Another way to identify these standards is by the amount of time your district allocates to specific standards. Power standards are the ones given the most amount of time. If your district and state have not identified power standards, identifying them is a really simple process that should be done with colleagues of the same grade level or subject. It is a great process to do, even if your district has identified them. Larry Ainsworth provides a simple set of criteria for identifying the standards: endurance, leverage, and readiness for the next level of learning and for a state test.
In addition to identifying power standards, highlight the standards that are written with wording or examples that helps you know it is worthy of a project.

The projects ideally would be worked on by students in teams ofusing about hours of team time over a month. The results derived would lend themselves to making a short presentation or PowerPoint. Most things I find are too simplistic where the product is simply a calculation to complete a worksheet.
